Pacific Sun Booth In Korea

Hello From Korea. It has been windy and cold here in Seoul. It took me over 23 hours to get here the other day. I brought three suitcases of samples and all of the materials for the booth and I felt like one of the Joads pulling through customs. Fortunately, I made it through without a hitch. I went to a seminar about selling food in Korea yesterday and met a bunch of great people from the Agricultural Trade Organization in Seoul and the Western United States Trade Association. All of the American exhibitors are great as well.

Here is a picture of our booth being manned by Hei-Ok Lim one of our able, affable agents in Seoul.

The show has been great so far. I have met with all of the major players with whom I wanted to meet and this was just the first day. I have been speaking through our interpreters, Mrs. Lim and Mr. Eric Yoon and that has been an really cool experience. Here is a shot of one of the many feeding frenzies that has happened in our booth.

All in all, it looks like our expirements in Korean Fusion Cuisine are going well.

All the best, Brian - The Classicist - Sales and Marketing Manager

Pacific Sun Goes To South Korea

Pacific Sun Olive Oil announced today that it will be taking part in the 2005 Food and Hotel Expo at KOEX Center in Seoul, Korea. Brian Kenny, Sales and Marketing Manager, will be exhibiting Pacific Sun Olives and Olive Oil and will be discussing the fusion of Korean Cuisine with Pacific Sun products.

"We have taken our olives and our olive oils and we have paired them with the fundaments of Korean Cuisine; Kim-Chee, Dok (Rice Cakes), and traditional Korean Sauces in order to show Korean food people that there are things that we can do to move the cuisine in new directions," Kenny said explaining the focus of Pacific Sun's presentation at the Expo.

When asked why Pacific Sun had decided to make the trip to Korea for the Expo Kenny stated, "We see Korea as an enormous growth market. Wine consumption has increased 70% since 2003. Where wine goes other specialty foods follow." Kenny explained that he and Brendon and Jane Flynn decided to participate in the show after Kenny's last trip to Korea in February 2005. "The signs are all pointing in this direction," Kenny mused. Brendon Flynn added "it is a big world and we want to avail ourselves of the foreign demand for our specialty products."

The Food and Hotel Expo will Run From March 15-18 2005 in Seoul Korea.
