Introducing The Pacific Sun Friar


Brendon and I have been wanting to create a delicious and healthful replacement for all of the bland, greasy kitchen oils that are purchased en masse. The number two frequently asked question for Pacific Sun (after "Where the hell is Gerber?") is "Can I Fry With This Oil (Pacific Sun Olive Oil)?"

The answer, of course is yes. However, our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is an expensive fry oil so we wanted to develop a cost effective, gourmet fry oil. Our friend Chris Bianco encouraged this idea and suggested that we call it "Friar" oil and make it a tongue-in-cheek thing. "Bring some humor to the world," Chris suggested. So we began work on the Friar and we are ready to release him on the world after one year of development.

Pacific Sun Friar Oil is a blend of American Brown Rice Oil and Pacific Sun California Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Our retail friar oil comes in a 90%-10% blend and has a subtle, nutty flavor profile, with a elegant mouthfeel, and nice olive overtones.

This product is free of cholesterol, trans fat, and GMOs and is 100% domestic. We will post more information about the Friar here as we get closer to our release. It will be available through our web store at honestfoods.com and through our retail partners. If the Friar is not carried at your favorite store please request him.
