Pacific Sun Releases Two Varieties of Olives for 2004
Pacific Sun of Gerber, California is proud to announce the release of Pacific Sun Tehama Cured Olives, a new product line for 2004. The line consists of two varieties of olives, the Sevillano and the Barouni.
Both varieties are grown and slow cured for eight to nine months in Tehama County, in Northern California, using only salt, vinegar, and a natural fermentation process. "Our minimalist approach to curing these olives allows us to retain their natural varietal characteristics and results in unique, fresh flavor," stated Brian Kenny, Sales and Marketing Manager for Pacific Sun. "The Barouni olive has an earthy and woody flavor profile while the Sevillano has a subtle, sweet flavor," Kenny added. "Both varieties possess a delicious, fresh olive flavor, excellent texture, and a good flesh-to-pit ratio."
Pacific Sun Olive Oil is produced by Pacific Farms and Orchards, Inc. of Gerber, Ca. and is certified Extra Virgin by the California Olive Oil Council. Pacific Farms and Orchards, Inc. is a woman owned agricultural operation and has been family operated since 1952. It is a grower of premium plums, walnuts, almonds and olives and has been producing Pacific Sun Olive Oil since 2001.
